Reunionese film director and Screenwriter. Nicolas Séry was born in 1980 in Melun (France) to Reunionese parents. Eleven years later, the family returned to Reunion Island (Indian Ocean, France). After his baccalaureate, Nicolas began to wonder about the limited place of the Creole language and the island's history in society. Neither is taught at school and their devaluation is quite frequent. For Nicolas, wanting to film, in their context, Reunionese characters who express themselves in Creole, becomes a militant act.
