1975 - Born in Havana, Cuba.
1983 - Began studying the piano.
1990 - First appearance at Havana's International Jazz Festival.
1996 - First European tour with singer Augusto Enriquez.
1997 - Formed Temperamento with saxophoniste Javier Zalba (ex-Irakere), which releases their first album the following year, En el comienzo, by Egrem.
1999 - First solo album, Tiene que ver (Egrem).
2000 - Second solo album, No Limit, under the Japanese label JVC. / Produced the first album of the hip-hop group Obsesión, Un montón de cosas, released by Egrem. / Composed the original soundtrack for the movie Black, by French director Pierre Maraval.
2001 - Joined Orquesta de Ibrahim Ferrer, with whom he played more than four hundred concerts all over the world. / Third solo album, Elengo (Egrem).
2002 - International tour with Omara Portuondo.
2004 - 2005 - Co-produced and recorded the last album of Ibrahim Ferrer, Mi Sueño, released 2007 by World Circuit.
2007 - Released and toured the world with the album Zamazu (enja). Participated in the Jazz Festival in Marciac together with Bebo and Chucho Valdés, and composed what was to become the festival's theme Latin in Marciac.
2008 - Recorded the album of Omara Portuondo Gracias (world village / harmonia mundi) awarded a Latin Grammy.
2009 - Released the album Akokan (enja) the repertoire was on tour until 2011. / Co-produced and recorded the project Havana Cultura with Gilles Peterson (Bronswood Recordings). A second volume released in 2011.
2010 - Released the double album CD / DVD Live at Marciac (enja).

2012
- Released the album YO under the label (Jazz Village / harmonia mundi).
