Born in 1966 in Béni-Zid (Algeria), Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche came to France in 1968. He grew up in the Bosquet projects in Montfermeil, outside Paris. After studying social sciences, he founded SARRAZINK PRODUCTIONS in 1999 and directed Wesh wesh, qu'est-ce qui se passe ? in 2002, which received the Louis Delluc prize and the Grand Prize of the Berlin New Cinema Forum. In 2006, he made BLED NUMBER ONE (Back Home) and received the Cannes Film Festival Youth Prize. Dernier Maquis (2010) is his third feature.

Born in Beni-Zid, Algeria in 1966, he studied sociology in France. In 1999 he founded his own film production company Sarrazink Productions. In 2001 he made his first feature film, Wesh wesh, qu'est-ce qui se passe? (Berlinale Forum 2002). Histoire de Judas was shown at the Berlinale Forum in 2015.
