Legendary Joséphine Baker made her feature film debut in this 1927 film directed by Henri Etiévant and Mario Nalpas. The film is a rags to riches tale about a young free-spirited Antillian woman who falls in love with an explorer, and follows him to Paris. An original musical score composed by Scott Paulson supplements the film.
