Martha Diomandé was circumcised when she was 8 years old in the "sacred forest". Daughter and granddaughter of excisers, she inherited the power of her ancestors and should naturally take the knife. But she decided to take the opposite, engaging in a fight to convince the women of her native village of Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) to abandon this practice. A political and social struggle, but also intimate and familial.
