Mame Betty Diagne is a woman with a passion for music, but because of her reserve and extreme shyness she has never taken the step to live her passion. Locked in a daily routine, she lives in a world apart with an old-fashioned style that does not enhance her. An office secretary and eternal loner, she has always stifled her passion and has never considered opening up to others. Everything happens in her head, she daydreams a lot and often transforms the noises around her into a beautiful melody.

She is very much inspired by the jazz and blues singers of the 1930s, which explains her incompatibility with the modern world around her.

But her life will change when she sees a sign at the entrance of a bar saying "Urgent jazz singer wanted"...
