Lara Carolina Noronha Abranches de Sousa was born in Maputo in 1991. Her artistic name is Lara Sousa. She is a young Mozambican filmmaker, director, trained in a Cuban film school. Her production focuses on short films of a hybrid character between documentary and fiction. With a work of a self-referential nature, Lara explores the non-place that is occupied by those who propose to divide themselves between two nations, between different cultures and languages, weaving a powerful contemporary vision on the formation of individuality and subjectivity so dear to cinema today.
